I'm so excited to be joining the Eagleview family this year and teaching 5th grade! I taught 3rd and 4th Grade in School District 27J for 14 years before moving here to Eagleview. Before that, I taught at a private school in Washington, D.C. for two years.
I grew up in Michigan, in a town outside of Detroit. (Go Red Wings!) I went to college at Duke University, which is why I have such a great love for Blue Devils basketball. If you look carefully, you'll find Duke things all over my classroom. I moved out to Colorado to attend grad school at CU Boulder, and have loved life in Colorado ever since.
I love teaching all subject areas, but my favorite subject is definitely reading. I loved to read when I was in elementary school, and it's my goal to instill a love of reading in my students! I'm always adding books to my classroom library, and I'm looking forward to reading lots of great new "fifth grade books" and sharing them with my students.
When I'm not at school, I spend a lot of time playing tennis. I try to play as much as I can! I also have the BEST dog, a labradoodle named Tucker, who I love to take on adventures, whether it's to the dog park, the mountains, or swimmin in a lake or ocean!
