I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English, a minor in Special Education as well as my Elementary Education Teaching Endorsement from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Following my student teaching, I taught in a Third/Fourth Grade Multi-Aged classroom, I have taught students in Second through Fifth grade and was fortunate enough to be a part of the Young Scholars Program for many years. I also completed my Masters in, English as a Second Language at the University of Colorado, in Boulder. Teaching the Standard Based Curriculum, from the Human Body to Communities and much more is very enjoyable. I love teaching reading and watching the students go from just reading words to reading for meaning.
On a more personal note, when I’m not teaching, I enjoy my husband and our two beautiful children. Both of my children have been a part of the Adams 12 School District. One is getting ready for Middle School, while the other one has one more year of Preschool. We love to go boating, camping, and hiking throughout the beautiful state of Colorado.
