I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English, a minor in Special Education as well as my Elementary Education Teaching Endorsement from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Following my student teaching, I taught in a Third/Fourth Grade Multi-Aged classroom, I have taught students in Second through Fifth grade and was fortunate enough to be a part of the Young Scholars Program for many years. I also completed my Masters in, English as a Second Language at the University of Colorado, in Boulder. Teaching the Standard Based Curriculum, from the Human Body to Communities and much more is very enjoyable. I love teaching reading and watching the students go from just reading words to reading for meaning.
On a more personal note, when I’m not teaching, I enjoy my husband and our two beautiful children. Both of my children have been a part of the Adams 12 School District. One is going to be a Senior at Horizon High School, while the other one is a fifth grader. We love to go boating, camping, and hiking throughout the beautiful state of Colorado.
