I am a product of the Adams 12 Five Star school district! I knew when I was little that I wanted to become a teacher. Mostly because I liked writing on the chalk board, but those reasons became more and more based on loving to learn and loving to teach! I am proud to say that I have attended Adams 12 schools and now I have the opportunity to be teaching in the district! There was really no other choice for me when I began my job search out of college. I have also spent a great deal of my teaching career at Eagleview Elementary. While I attended college I worked in the BASE program for four years and then was given the chance to student teach here as well. I taught first grade at Meridian Elementary for one year and then I have been here for the last 13 years teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade and now Special Education. I have my Master’s Degree in reading instruction because I love to see the growth that reading can bring to a child’s life! My favorite thing about teaching is to see that growth happen and to see that “light bulb” turn on when a child has made that learning connection.
Besides my love for teaching, I also have a deep love for my family! I have two boys who just continue to amaze me at how much and how fast they can learn! It has definitely given me a new perspective being a mom and a teacher. I too have those “light bulb” moments! I am learning what it means to be in a house full of boys! My husband and I enjoy taking the boys camping and four-wheeling. It is our favorite thing to do in the summer. We also enjoy playing games together and finding different parks to play at. I love to read to my kids and I love to sit down and enjoy a good book by myself as well.
