I attended the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley for my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders and my masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology. After I graduated in 1987, I completed my clinical fellowship year at the University Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver, Colorado. I was then hired by UCHSC. I enjoyed the following twelve years working in- and out-patient services with many wonderful opportunities including Otitis Media Clinic, Cleft Lip/Palate Clinic, Special Care Unit for infants, adult brain injury, and burn rehab. I then decided to make a big move in my career and was hired at Adams 12 Five Star Schools in 2000. During my first few years in the District, I worked in a variety of schools but eventually landed at Eagleview Elementary. I have been the Speech/Language Pathologist at Eagleview Elementary since 2002.
I grew up in Sterling, which is a rural farming community in Northeastern Colorado. I met my husband Allen during High School and we have been married since 1985. I have two girls who completed their K-12 education in District 12 and then went on to attend college at Colorado State University (CSU) in Ft. Collins. My oldest daughter was accepted into the Doctorate Program for Physical Therapy and moved out of state to extend her education. My youngest daughter also has big plans to further her education. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, gardening, home improvement projects, and cuddling with my cats.
