I was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado. I graduated from Loveland High School. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. Following my student teaching of 3rd grade students, I managed a retail store for 5 years and worked in a daycare center as both a teacher and a director for an additional 5 years. I began my teaching career in earnest in Adams 12, teaching a first/second grade combination class at Tarver Elementary. I was a substitute in the district for the two years following, until I got a permanent position as a first grade teacher at Tarver. After 3 consecutive years at Tarver, I was thrilled to come to a brand new school – Eagleview Elementary – where I was hired to teach second grade. I have taught second grade all of my years at Eagleview except one year when I taught first grade and “looped” up to second grade with my first graders. I received my Master of Arts degree in 2000 from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
On a more personal note, my husband Joe and I have four grown children, two of which, attended and graduated from schools in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. We presently have 4 grandchildren and are expecting a fifth in September! In my free time, our family enjoys camping and four-wheeling in our beautiful Colorado mountains! I also enjoy quilting, card making, and gardening.
