EVE Update - May 2020

Dear Eagleview Families,

I hope this finds you all well and in good health as we enter the month of May.  It has been seven weeks since our students have been at home, and we are missing being able to see them in person on a regular basis.  I want to extend a HUGE kudos to our families for their tremendous efforts to maintain learning and support for your students to engage in the remote learning platform.  We can all agree, it’s not the same!  With that said, I am proud of our efforts to jump in full fledged to make the very best of the situation.

I know there are a lot of questions you may have about what the future holds, including some of the questions below:

  • When will students be able to retrieve their belongings? (supplies, yearbooks, etc.)

  • Will BASE be open for the summer?

  • How can we return library books?

  • What is learning going to look like in the fall?

  • When and how will we get our student’s report card?

With the information and directives everchanging, we too, are anxiously waiting to get the answers to your questions.  Our district is closely monitoring the orders as Governor Polis shifted his order from the “Stay at Home” phase to the “Safer at Home” phase.  As a system, we are working with state and local public health partners to determine what it means for us as a district to close out the year and to begin to prepare for next school year. As of right now, I wish I had more answers for you.  As information unfolds, you can be sure I will communicate immediately thereafter so you are prepared for what this means for your family.

While we enter the final three weeks of school, we want the students to finish strong with their remote learning efforts and engagement.  Learning boards will be shared with families through the final week of school, with the official last day of Thursday, May 21st.

Our teachers have certainly taken a leap, alongside your students during these uncertain times. I ask that you join me in celebrating them May 4-8th for “Teacher Appreciation Week!” As I have joined class meetings, collaboration sessions, etc., I continue to be inspired by our teacher’s commitment and dedication to our students.  It’s remarkable!

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Bianca Porter, Principal
