Eagleview Update - January 2020
Dear Eagleview Families,
Happy New Year and welcome to 2020 -- a new decade! It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and winter break. It was certainly nice to slow down and enjoy the time making memories with loved ones.
Thank you to all of our families who contributed to our Holiday Giving Tree. We gathered dozens of gifts for families in need and each one of the recipients expressed tremendous gratitude. The library book drive was also a HUGE success prior to break. We appreciate your support to promote a love for literacy with our students. Our goal is for students to consistently engage in books they love and support their interests! As we look ahead, we appreciate your at-home coaching to promote the steps students are attaining for every 15 minutes of reading they do at home and at school! We already have students who have reached 300 steps! Way to go, Eagles!
To wrap up our first half of the year, report cards will be sent home Wednesday, January 15th. This guide summarizes specific grade-level standards and indicators used for determining progress within each content area. Our Standards Based Grading Guide will provide further specifics about the grading criterion and the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Scholarly Habits.
As we enter the 2nd semester, we will be conducting our winter assessment day on Friday, January 17th. We are continuously collecting a body of evidence to determine student growth over time. You can expect a comprehensive review of your child(ren)’s progress at the upcoming February Parent and Teacher Conferences.
