EVE Update - January 2019
Dear Eagleview Families,
Happy New Year and welcome to 2019! It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through the school year. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and winter break. It was certainly nice to slow down and enjoy the time making memories with loved ones.
To wrap up our first half of the year, report cards will be sent home Wednesday, January 16th. To guide your review of your child(ren)’s report card, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Adams 12 Standards and Report Card Guidelines. This guide summarizes specific grade-level standards and indicators used for determining progress within each content area.
We are proud of our school efforts this year to embrace a literacy-rich culture. As you know, our staff has implemented a new reading resource with a primary goal of cultivating a love of reading. Students are earning their “steps” on a daily basis as part our 100 book challenge. Our school wide goal is for student to earn 4 steps a day. Each step constitutes 15 minutes of reading, with two steps being obtained at school and two at home. We appreciate your support to read alongside your student, and the documentation of your child’s steps via their individual reading logs. I have attached a Parent Coaching Guide to give you tidbits to support your students at home.
As we enter the 2nd semester, we will be conducting our winter assessment day on Friday, January 18th. We are continuously collecting a body of evidence to determine student growth over time. You can expect a comprehensive review of your child(ren)’s progress at the upcoming February Parent and Teacher Conferences.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! Thanks so much for your continuous support. If you have any comments, questions, feedback or compliments, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email at email@example.com.
