Code Chic- Coding for Girls

"We believe that more girls exposed to computer science at a young age will lead to more women working in the technology and engineering fields.  Therefore we are offering a pilot program for all girls in grades 2-5 to learn to work together to express themselves through this creative process."

Women make up half of the U.S. workforce, but hold just 25% of the jobs in technical or computing fields.

Women today represent 18% of all computer science graduates. In 1984, they represented37%.

Despite the fact that 55% of overall AP test takers are girls, only 17% of AP Computer Science test takers are high school girls.
