4th Grade

Welcome to 4th grade!  Fourth grade is a year of change. It is a time where students take skills they have learned in the previous years from the concrete to the abstract. It tends to be a huge academic jump for some, while others slide right into fourth grade. Students also begin to mature socially and their peers play a larger role in their life. While students are expected to be independent and responsible for their own learning, it is still important for families, teachers and students to work together to ensure success for all students. Fourth graders will take various assessments this year including PARCC testing in reading, writing and math, and MAPS in reading and math, as well as various benchmarking assessments.
