April EVE Update

Hi Eagleview Families,

Welcome Back!
I am hopeful everyone had a restful spring break! I enjoyed chatting with the students to hear all about their adventures and traveling experiences over the extended break.  April has arrived, and that means we have just less than two months of school left before summer vacation.

April is set to be a busy month ahead with many grade level evening events, a continuation of our CMAS testing for 4th and 5th graders, our Major Saver Education Foundation fundraiser, and finally our Spring Luau Family Game Night.  Please see the calendar to the left for a full listing of our upcoming special events.  This is a special time of year as we get to celebrate the growth of our students and see their efforts come to fruition.

In April, we also celebrate Light it Up Blue to bring awareness to autism.  The initiative is generally associated with Autism Speaks. It is intended to raise international awareness of autism in support of both World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Awareness Month in the United States.

We are proud to have a Structured Learning Support (SLS) program at Eagleview where we serve students with autism or autism-like characteristics.  Our SLS team has a wide variety of activities planned for the school including a read-aloud to all classrooms, a hat and wear blue day, in addition to sponsoring a EVE Walk team for the Autism Speaks event in Denver on June 11, 2017.   Please see the link below for details on the event.  We would love to have a huge turnout from our school http://act.autismspeaks.org/goto/Eagleview.

Thanks so much for your continuous support. If you have any comments, questions, feedback or compliments, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email at bianca.porter@adams12.org
